Pentaho breidt uit in Europa
30 Oct 2007

Pentaho, een open source Business Intelligence leverancier, breidt haar diensten in Europa uit. In onderstaand persbericht van Pentaho vindt u meer informatie hierover.

Pentaho Corp., creator of the world's most popular open source business intelligence (BI) suite, today announced another milestone in its ongoing expansion of operations in Europe. Over the last 6 months, Pentaho has invested in European-based engineering, consulting, support, business development and sales personnel. Most recently, Pentaho has opened a European sales office in Belgium to address accelerating demand for subscription services for Pentaho's flagship Open BI Suite offering.

This recent expansion will enable Pentaho to better service its significant customer, partner, and community base in the European market. Pentaho already has more than a dozen Pentaho Certified Systems Integrator Partners based in Europe providing business and technology expertise around Pentaho's best-in-class open source BI offering. By expanding its sales presence and adding additional support staff, Pentaho can provide more resources to assist these partners in adding new Pentaho Subscription customers and applying their expertise in consulting opportunities.

"As a Pentaho partner, we're glad to see Pentaho continuing to build its direct presence in Europe," said Gianugo Rabellino, CEO of Sourcesense, a Pentaho Certified SI Partner with operations in The Netherlands, Italy, and the United Kingdom. "Working with Pentaho's European team, we can accelerate our efforts to address European demand for professional services and support for the Pentaho Open BI Suite."

A recent study by Gartner, highlighted by eWeek, showed continuing strong adoption of open source software in European and U.S. organizations, with a corresponding decrease in future plans to use traditional proprietary software. And a study by International Data Corp. found that more European firms are choosing open source software primarily for reasons of quality and flexibility. Roughly one-third of Pentaho's 100,000 monthly downloads come from European countries.

"Establishing a stronger European presence shows our long-term commitment to this strategic market," said Richard Daley, CEO of Pentaho Corporation. "The high level of European market demand for open source solutions is undeniable, and we've got the products, services, customer successes, and local resources to address that demand very effectively."
